Wow... I am so scared to take my clothes off at the beach so kudos! haha The images working are ones that she appears to be very comfortable and natural in. The best are 1,5 and 7. She is not stiff and does not seem to mind the camera. The composition of 7 and 5 are working the best for me because its just enough space for the subject, and surrounding without feeling closed in like in image 2. I also like the ones where she is facing away from the camera best as if she does not care who is on the beach that can see her. Image 2 seems too closed in and image 3 she still seems to be consciously looking out for people. The only reason image 6 is not working for me is because I wish there was more sky space.
The more relaxed the model looks the better the image looks. Unfortunatly most of the images from this week your model looks tense. The first image she looks relaxed but there needs to be more sky so we can see where she's looking. None of the others work for me because she doesn't seem comfortable in any of them. The pictures from the week before work better, particularly the ones where the model is looking for chips and drinks. Much more relaxed and well composed shots. Also I think your male model is probably the most comfortable being naked so you might want to consider using him more.
The images of the model at the beach where you give her lots of water and sky in the frame work more conceptually for me. It gives a feel of more freedom and space. The closer shots are fine, but I enjoy the freedom that 4 and 5 give you. The images of the models getting chips and drinking coffee work for your concept but feel staged. As David said, the male model does seem a lot more comfortable in that setting.
The images that seem to be working best are those in which the model or subject is most comfortable. The images from this week don't seem as strong. When I think of public places, I want to see more people or at least the illusion that more people are around. The beach photos look secluded and not as public. Even having buildings in the background would help make these photos stronger for your concept.
I think this is a great idea and the some of these pics really accomplish the naked in public idea. The ones that work for me are the ones where your model looks the most natural as well. The top one is the best. I know it has to be kinda hard to get place where you can take naked pictures in public but I think the more effective ones happen when you are in a more public surrounding.
Pros:Composition and color is good. The idea is good meaning most Americans do not accept nudity as a normal.
Cons: The statment need to be a little more in depth it is telling the reader what to think. I think the first set is stronger cause people can relate to nude sun bathing
I believe that all of your pictures are working as far as taking nudes in public places. The first set of the girl in the water would probably be more public had there been other people in the photographs. I think the most successful set is the ones of Sabra and the guy because it is in a location that is obvious to most of us. If you are going for hilarious, thee are definitely that. Whatever you do don’t take this project too serious. Keep it fun with the subject matter.:)
You have certainly left a great deal to the imagination. I love nudes. They are hilarious and incredibly real. I’m not certain I’ll ever eat Bagelheads the same now that I’ve seen tits and ass everywhere. Oh well. Anyway. The nudes in atypical places are fantastic. The picture of the nude lady browsing for chips is spectacular. Honestly I can’t properly evaluate the images because they are so amusing. So just keep taking pictures without clothes in unusual places.
Beach pictures make sense. Nudes should be at the beach. Stay away from the beach. That is all. Maybe like Toys R Us in the buck. Try that.
I am with Andrew--- the unusual places work the best! Do you plan to use other models or just the one?
Give me a statement and an idea of what kind of book these will appear in--huge images will work way differently than small ones---also, play with cropping as to leave something to the imagination!
